Emily and I are in Virginia for a wedding this weekend. Thursday afternoon we met up with Chris and Linette to photograph their engagement portraits. Our first stop was the Norfolk Naval Base, We were met there with Rain and people working the the helicopters. Chris is a Navy Pilot and Linette is a Navy Doctor who is also a Pilot. They both are trained to fly Helicopters. After a while we made the best of it, photographing them with small sections of the helicopters. Trying to outrun the weather we found a beautiful setting at Fort Story near Virginia Beach. It was perfect once the sun came out. We had fun chasing the crabs around the beach, and there was no one around. We tried one more beach to photograph sunset photographs on, but the sun decided to play shy and hide behind the clouds… Bummer.
Chris went on to the Bachelor party and Linette dined with us at Lynnhaven Fish House. The food was incredible, and the time getting to know Linette was something Emily and I don’t get to do enough of.
That was yesterday….
Today was the rehearsal. After a day at the Beach, Emily and I met up with the wedding party at Oceana Naval Air Station where we had a very quick rehearsal before going off to dinner in Norfolk. Freemason Abby was our host for the Rehearsal dinner. Dinner was excellent and I might get used to this whole seafood thing.
Tomorrow is the wedding….
