Shampoo tips to extend your haircolor – Makeup – Hair Tips & Tricks

Don’t Fade Away: Does Color Extending Shampoo really work and why do I need to use it? Color Extend Shampoos protect hair to extend the life and vibrancy of haircolor. Make sure the product you use is formulated with Anti-Fade properties as well as UV filters. UV filters help lock in color and lock out radicals from the environment (radicals are things like mineral-rich water, frequent washing with harsh shampoo, chorine and environmental pollutants). Color-treated hair is vulnerable and damage can cause color fade, and hair to be dry, and look dull. Exposure to damaging UV rays also contributes to color fading and damaged hair shafts. Dry, damaged, porous hair can resist color, creating uneven results and a very dissatisfying color experience. Specialty shampoos can cost a little more but why not protect the investment you made in a color service. Some hair care product lines also carry a companion conditioner for color treated hair specially formulated to work together with the shampoo or by itself. Makeup Tip#2 “Don’t fade away”

“Don’t fade away”. How do I make my lipstick wear longer? This trick works best when using a matt finished lipstick or lip pencil (matt means no shine or shimmer). First, gently pat your lips with facial powder prior to applying your lipstick. Apply a generous amount of lipstick. Blot your lips with a tissue. Take a clean tissue and hold it over your lips, with the other hand, gently pat facial powder (sparingly) to the tissue over your lipstick. You should not see much if any of the powder. This can take some practice to get the right amount of powder applied before and over your lipstick. I prefer to use a lip pencil or lip crayon for more staying power. They seem to have more concentrated pigments and give a nice “stain” to your lips.

Makeup Tip # 1 – “The eyes have it”

“The eyes have it”. Go ahead, play up those beautiful eyes. Experiment with colors,
eyeliners, shadows and shimmer. Just remember, if you wear strong eye make-up, tone
down the lip color. There is a slim line between sassy and trashy. Keep your lip color
to a soft neutral or even a lightly tinted gloss. The same goes for your blush or
bronzer – too much color on your face can look clownish. Whatever feature you want to
showcase should be in the spotlight, and not competing for attention.
