Start 2010 with a Family Portrait

Family Portraits Outdoor around Lowell

Family Portraits can be rather fun when you have a family that says.. lets be creative. A large family can be very difficult to be creative with. I am always looking for ways to make each family unique. Does anyone have any ideas on how to be creative with lets say 10 people or more? Just looking for creative ideas that highlight a family not make them look like individuals. Any help would be awesome.

Beach Portraits – A little boy at play

This little boy has the coolest backyard. He gets to play on the shores of Lake Michigan with his mom and dad during the summer and in the mountains of Utah. The day we photographed this young guy it was crazy weather. After waiting for more than a year to get their portraits taken by Modern Photographics we worked with what weather we had. The wind and waves were crashing on shore as we photographed the family in the beach grasses. We did not stay long outside and retreated inside to see how this young man could play. He even helped daddy play his guitar. Lily was my assistant for the day and her highlight was the cat. This cat would do tricks like a dog and acted more like a dog than a cat. It was awesome.

Twins One Year Portraits

This young family is the last family I ever photographed with these train tracks. Recently the tracks were removed to make a Rails to Trails project. Its a great shot to be the last family photographed there. I am excited to see these beutiful babies turn one. Twins were very fun to photograph. I started photographing them before they were ever born. We started with Maternity and birth. They returned every month to be photographed by us. I am going to miss them.

Outdoor Children's Portraits- The Thomas Family

Outdoor Kid’s Portraits in March

These kids are growing up fast. Not that long ago the oldest was the flower girl at our wedding and now there is 4 of them. The young lady is in high school and the middle boys are now in school. At least we have the youngest one to keep the “youth” feel of the family. I just had to take this crew outdoors for their portraits. It was too nice of a day to start with studio portraits. Unfortunetly we couldn’t do all them outside because it would be too cold for the baby, but all the kids did great, followed directions, and didn’t fight! What a successful session. I hope it was the start to spring and a great summer ahead.
