Pinnacle Center Wedding- Hudsonville, Michigan

The Pinnacle Center was a great venue for a wedding and reception.  Josh and Stephanie were an awesome couple to photograph.  A local park made a wonderful place for this couple to see each other before the wedding.  Their bridal party joined us after their private time to enjoy an outdoor mix of wedding portraits.  We were all grateful for a local resident of the park who shared with us her favorite places in the park.  After enduring the heat and humidity we made our way back to the Pinnacle Center for a beautiful ceremony and reception.

Family Portraits at Home- A part of your history- Grand Rapids, Michigan area

Each family comes to Modern Photographics for a different reason.  This family purchased a gift certificate at a silent auction over a year ago.  We honored it like we honor all gift certificates.  This a very cool family.  There family has a lot of cool property here in Lowell, Michigan and the dad has been a successful business owner for years within the community.  Traditional family portraits are what they are used to, but as you know I like to color outside the lines sometimes.  I was able to do that with this family, because they trusted me.  Working hard at first to capture what they had in mind before I dragged them to greener pastures.   We all had a good time and I can’t wait for them to proof their photos tomorrow!

Anniversary Portrait session- Lansing, Michigan

Double bookings happen…and when it does it really usually bothers me.  Its been a few years since we double booked this young lady’s wedding.  We realized the Monday following the booking, and took care of them.  Normally a client requests there money back, but this young married couple wanted us to still take photos of them at some point.  Years went by and we were able to get together this past week to photograph an incredible session at Michigan State Gardens.

Birthday Baby Portraits – Lowell, Michigan Grand Rapids Area

Miss Vada turned one just a couple of weeks ago, and boy is she a cutie.  Vada liked her cake and made the coolest hand print over her face.  This photo now hangs in the front of our studio.  Birthday portraits are so much fun.

“Getting Dirty” Engagement Portraits – Grand Rapids Michigan

Tale of two sessions in one.  Alex, Carolyn and I had a blast during this session.  Everything was set for an elegant, perfect, and clean session within the Amway Grand hotel.  Things started that way, but ended totally on a muddy note.  We all wanted outdoor photos (I can want certain photos as a photographer) and would be disappointed if we didn’t at least try.  So after a beautiful dancing filled indoor session, we took things outside to the garden at Calvin College.  With rain and mud we made unique, one of a kind, artistic photos that reflect just how goofy this couple is.  Silliness was an understatement!

Studio Senior Portraits – Saranac, MI

With one of the few remaining indoor photography spaces remaining, we like to make sure we do it right.  Studio portraits are an important piece to the whole package we offer.  Its not hard to take a person outside and photograph them under a tree, add a little photoshop and call it senior portraits.  Studio portraits using professional lighting, backgrounds, and correct posing is a lost art.  Have we mastered it, never…  It is always improving and changing so we change and improve along with it.  Studio sessions are available with all our Senior portrait packages.

Traditional Guy- Senior Portraits Grand Rapids

This Lowell High School senior guy really was an easy session today.  If only every senior guy would smile easily and pose naturally and comfortably.  We kept things pretty simple and traditional.  Our goal was to make his images unique to him, but display well next to his brother and sisters.  Here are a couple cool ones from the session.

Senior Portraits – Greenville, Michigan
