Yesterday was a first for us. Emily and I photographed a wedding at a well known Church in Grand Rapids. Their Rules were ridicules! They refused to allow Emily and I (or any photographer) to photograph from the floor level of the Church. I asked why, and they stated that too many photographers broke the rules before us. So I was as professional as possible and worked within the rules. We both photographed from the Balcony.
The most upsetting part, Guests of this wedding were able to use their cameras with flashes to photograph the event from their seats. Some even had Canon’s with half way descent glass on them. The church even allowed the videographer “who we love ” to set up behind the bride and groom on the main alter. So they will end up with great video, but so-so photo’s of the ceremony, all coming from the same angle.
So to all the photographers out there who did not respect the sanctity of marriage and made fools of yourselves to get that “GREAT” photo, Thanks for ruining it for the rest of us!
